As the Numbers Increased, Reality Set In

The first, I spent time filling out the memory book

The second I just managed to throw stuff in the memory book

The third, there is no memory book.

The first, I boiled all the pacifiers daily

The second I rinsed it off every time it hit the floor

The third, I employed the 5 second rule

The first, it was all Baby Phat, Carters and Old Navy

The second, it was all Target, Walmart and outlet shops

The third, it’s all Once Upon a Child and hand me downs

The first, Huggies was a must, changed at the thought of a soiled diaper

The second, Pampers all day, changed at least five times a day

The third, straight Target brand, and “how long you been sitting in this poop”

It’s just not possible or sane to keep up all the hoopla we go through with the first child.  With more kids comes more wisdom and more ingenuity in saving money and cutting corners!

Gotta love motherhood!!

this is so true, but you have to cut the fathers some slack as well.. lol!! We know the importants of saving a buck.. Some just catch on later then others.. but I love the three step process or I like to call it the three step program!!
1)no kids, buy things you want vs. need
2)with first child, buy things you need, they need and want
3)with more then one child, buy things the kids need, accept things they need and what you need and want is out the door, until that breakthrough comes!!
How do we sustain? Through Christ, because on the spiritual side and worldly side he is all we would ever need and should want. Once we figure out what that mean it is easy to say we are blessed no matter what the situation may be.

Lol! Of course I’ll cut the fathers some slack. But you’re right, whatever corners we have to cut, God sustains us through it all!

Lol, this is so true Addie! Seems like the first child gets the best of everything! Well I guess after having more children you learn to spend wisely, just because its not name brand doesnt mean your are cheating your kids. I dont mind knock offs for my kids, as long as they are clean and loved! Thats what matters the most!
